Okay, if you’ve been trying to get into remote work but keep finding jobs that want three years of experience, five different systems, and somehow expect you to already know everything on day one… this one is worth a look. 😭
Enova is hiring a CashNetUSA Customer Service Representative, and the role pays $17 an hour.
The job is fully remote, but there is one thing you need to check before you get too excited: you have to live in one of their approved states.
Right now, the posting lists Arizona, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Missouri, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
So this is definitely remote, just not nationwide remote.
So what would you actually be doing?
This is a customer service role for one of Enova’s consumer lending brands.
They give you a 4-week training program, and after training you’ll mainly be handling incoming customer calls.
You could be helping someone with a question about their account, explaining products or services, processing a payment, setting up a payment plan, or updating account information.
So this isn’t really one of those roles where you’re sitting quietly answering emails all day.
You’re going to be talking to people.
A lot. 😂
Is this beginner-friendly?
Compared with a lot of the jobs we’ve been seeing lately? Yes.
Enova says previous call center experience is a plus, not an absolute requirement.
They’re also looking at candidates who have worked in fast-paced customer service environments.
That means experience from retail, hospitality, banking, collections, customer service, front desk work, account support, or other high-volume roles may still be relevant.
And I like that because sometimes people already have the right skills — they just don’t have the exact “remote call center” title on their resume yet.
How phone-heavy is it?
I’m giving this one a HIGH phone rating.
The posting specifically talks about incoming customer calls and being able to perform in a high-volume environment.
So if your goal is strictly non-phone work, I would skip this one.
But if your main goal is getting your foot into remote work and you’re comfortable talking to customers, this could make more sense.
What are they looking for?
They’re emphasizing things like strong communication, active listening, professionalism, empathy, multitasking, adaptability, and being comfortable learning new technology.
They also want someone who can work independently in a remote environment.
That’s another reason I’d tell people not to automatically count themselves out just because they haven’t worked remotely before.
If you already have customer-facing experience and can show that you know how to solve problems, communicate clearly, handle multiple tasks, and stay calm when things get busy, you already have some of the skills they’re asking for.
Pay and benefits
The listed pay is $17/hour, and the posting says additional compensation may include a bonus.
Full-time employees may also be eligible for benefits like health, dental, and vision coverage, mental health benefits, 401(k) matching, PTO, paid holidays, paid parental leave, and other employee programs.
Before you apply…
Please don’t send the same general resume you’ve been using for every job.
This posting is giving you the keywords.
I’d make sure your resume naturally shows things like:
Inbound Calls, Customer Service, Account Support, Payment Processing, Payment Plans, Customer Inquiries, Active Listening, Problem Resolution, High-Volume Customer Service, Account Management, Verbal Communication, Written Communication, Multitasking, Remote Work, and Technology Adaptability.
And of course, only use the ones that genuinely match your experience.
